Technical Aspects

Hi! My name is Miguel. I hold a Ph.D. in Physics, and yes — I truly love football, machine learning, and artificial intelligence. If you’re wondering about the reasoning behind the predictions, here’s a clear overview:

- What are the predictions based on? The predictions are primarily based on the performance of each team in their previous five matches, capturing recent form and trends rather than long-term historical bias.

- What technologies are used for the predictions? I have experimented with several machine learning approaches over time. Ultimately, the most accurate and reliable solution is a combination of LightGBM and ChatGPT.

LightGBM (Light Gradient-Boosting Machine) is the core predictive engine. It is a free and open-source gradient-boosting framework originally developed by Microsoft, based on decision-tree algorithms and optimized for high performance, scalability, and accuracy in both regression and classification tasks.

ChatGPT complements this by enhancing the system with contextual reasoning, pattern interpretation, and clearer explanations, helping translate raw model outputs into insights that are easier to understand and more useful for decision-making.

Together, this hybrid approach merges robust statistical modeling with advanced AI-driven interpretation, resulting in predictions that are both data-driven and intelligently refined.

Deep Soccer in the Media

- The Deep Soccer predictions before the World Cup 2022 in the spanish newspaper La Razón.

- Radio Interview for the sports journalist Pepe Brasin (in spanish).

- Deep Soccer Youtube channel with demos of the tool, coding tutorials etc.

And that is all folks. This is my little contribution to the world of predicting statistics in sports. A topic that I have been always passioned about. For comments or suggestions you can always contact me on admin@deep-soccer.com.
